BS degree in Engineering or technical field and assessed equivalent work experience. Knowledge of 2D AutoCAD and Solid Works or similar software is desired. Must have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Perform functions to assist in the design and development of new and existing electrical connector related products from a manufacturing perspective. Responsible for all manufacturing aspects of new product development including manufacturing process selection, tooling, testing, and implementation of manufacturing documentation. Works closely with Product Development Group and Product Management to design and implement new products. Interacts with all divisions of Manufacturing including, Process Engineering, Tooling, Testing, Quality, and Purchasing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work closely with the Product Development Group and Product Management to design products that are manufacturable and meet the customer’s needs.
Discuss new product designs with the Manufacturing Team to determine appropriate manufacturing processes, required tooling, and necessary documentation.
Work with the Manufacturing Technicians to develop functional prototypes/samples for customer approval, product testing and/or evaluation.
Perform a variety of cost engineering functions encompassing estimating, cost control, budget preparations, forecasting, and cost reporting under limited supervision
Coordinate time studies as needed.
Determine the necessary documentation for production and facilitate the creation of manufacturing documents.
Manage all manufacturing aspects of development projects from concept to final production release.
Work with the Product Development team at Mexico facility.
Work with vendors, Sales, R&D, Purchasing, QA, Process, and Production to ensure quality and efficient production methods and design.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
