Qualifications:

This job requires a high school diploma or its equivalent along with three years’ experience in the Cable Assembly and Harness Industry as well as understanding production flow and procedures.  Must have completed leadership training classes, must be able to help and resolve problems.  Must have good leadership skills, verbal communication skills and be able to work with a variety of people.  Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook (including Email and Calendar functions) and Excel along with some technical skills required.

 

Job Summary:

 Responsible for the daily supervision of Harness production employees and activities.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

1. Manages production order distribution, including assigning appropriate number of Assemblers per order and skill level needed to complete the order promptly and within Turck’s quality standards.  Balance assembler resources per order needs.   

2. Provides guidance to Assemblers for tasks of each order.   After Lead Assemblers, is the next go-to person for questions about reading and understanding documentation, and implementation of process. 

3. Manages order priority on the floor from the Dispatch List

4. Responsible for training, instruction, directing and admonition of employee performance while maintaining good employee relations.   Explain and enforce company policies, rules and regulations.  Working with harness technicians, trains Assemblers how to read documentation.

5. Responsible for taking over the implementation of process once Technicians create instructions with initial training.  

6. Responsible for monitoring and acting on key performance indicators (KPIs) and work scheduling in specific operations and with other Production Supervisors.

7. Suggestions for additional labor resources as needed while communicating with other Production Supervisors and Production Managers.   Recommend employees for transfer, promotions, discharges, and wage changes.

8. Acting on continuous improvement suggestions in quality, productivity, and on-time completion of production orders.   Continuously look for ways to develop one’s self, your team and the processes in your area with cooperation of supporting departments.

9. Safety: Lead by example by following and enforcing safe operating practices and keeping work area in a clean and orderly condition.

10. Supportive when needed to supervise other groups or all groups when backups are necessary, which requires having a thorough understanding of each step in the production process.

11. Perform other related duties as assigned.
