JOB SUMMARY:

This on-the-job training program will complement the theory taught at the university in a professional engineering environment. The Intern/Co-op will train on and assist with real projects and products alongside engineers and product managers.

 

Tasks and assignments will be specifically selected dependent on the field of study of candidate and his/her interests.  In general candidate will provide product concept and development support to product management including, but not limited to, product testing, product training & demos and coordinating necessary documentation with R&D, Manufacturing and Sales.

 

The intern/co-op will gain skills and knowledge in product management, project management and product support.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Assist in product development support at the direction of product managers.

Assist in the day to day operations of assigned product lines by providing technical support, documentation, training, list prices, margin analysis, forecasting, and assist in approvals and compliance processes.

Quality assurance and troubleshooting of new products as well as customer reported issues and processing of customer warranty returns.

Guided construction and programming of special products and product demo boards to demonstrate Turck capabilities to customers.

Possible field travel to customer sites locally and domestically to research applications and/or clarify concepts to meet customer needs.

Effectively handle multiple projects of varying difficulty and priority simultaneously.

Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A minimum of 4 semesters in a technical university or equivalent training.

• Completion of a variety of technical courses such as, but not limited to: 

    o    EE, CE, and Test: Electrical Circuits, Analog and Digital Circuits, Microprocessor design/interfacing, one or more Programming Language(s), Software     Design.

    o    Comp. Sci.: Programming in C/C++, Operating Systems, Computer Networks.

    o    Mechanical, Industrial and Systems: 2D and 3D CAD Drafting and Design, Machine Elements/Components, Product Design Concepts, Mechanics,   Properties and Strength of Materials.

• Basic wiring skills such as wire cutting, stripping and the use of and operation of equipment such as soldering iron (soldering, tinning), crimper, and test equipment (multimeter), preferred.
