QUALIFICATIONS: 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a similarly related discipline and at least 3-5 years of experience in Supply Chain (manufacturing preferred)
  • Experience working with SAP or similar ERP system
  • Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office tools 
  • High ethical standards and judgment 
  • Excellent verbal, communication, analytical, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage cross-functional projects including technical, commercial, and relational elements.
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and detailed analytical reporting

JOB SUMMARY:

This role is a blend of strategic and tactical objectives, aimed at helping stabilize Turck’s supply chain by providing support for aspects of purchasing including, but not limited to, buying, spend analysis, cost positions, utilization of ERP system, quote requests, supplier negotiations, and other contractual provisions with suppliers to meet the commodity and business development strategies. This role will provide direct factory support for the assigned commodity.

Responsible for effective purchasing of commodities used in the manufacturing or sale of Turck products. Commodities may include raw materials, semi-finished and finished components, and indirect spend.  Engage with suppliers who will provide the quality, price, and timely delivery required to meet company requirements. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. Educate oneself with regards to commodities assigned and maintain a solid working knowledge of Turck products.
  2. Perform functions related to the procurement of materials and services to meet customer demands including supplier stocking, on-time deliveries, non-conforming material, certificates of origin, material costing, adherence to product compliances, and development of samples and prototypes.
  3. Place purchase orders, plan inventory, resolve part conveyance issues, manage ERP system alerts, system data maintenance, resolve quality issues, and partake in continuous improvement activities for strategic supplier(s) as needed.
  4. Develop quote requests, negotiate price, and other contractual provisions with suppliers in line with company and Supply Chain goals. Develop, formulate, and implement commodity. strategies with the goal of cost savings, supply base stability, and aligning with company application requirements.
  5. Perform functions to develop, support, and maintain supplier relations including, measurement of supplier activity KPIs, contractual agreements, forecast provisions, supplier quality, and supplier audits.
  6. Ensure ERP master data is maintained to support the effective generation of procurement messages, reports, and inventory to support on-time delivery and internal inventory strategies. 
  7. Work with vendors to plan, implement, and execute to inventory metrics and KPIs.
  8. Support the organization on assigned new product development programs as it pertains to supply chain actions. 
  9. Work cross-functionally to address and resolve quality, cost, product development, or manufacturing issues in a timely and effective manner.
  10. Utilize business processes and tools to support and/or improve the integrated supply chain; Develop best practices and assist in applying them globally.
  11. Support Strategic Sourcing with data analytics and processing; be a subject-matter-expert on the team, within SAP (ERP) system, and other available tools.
  12. Act as an advocate for the value of Sourcing and how it interacts with the rest of the organization. Promote collaboration between cross-functional groups. 
  13. Act as a self-starter in identifying projects aimed at improving the Turck supply chain.
  14. Maintain conduct consistent with company policy, accepted practices, and applicable Federal and State regulations. 
  15. Perform other related duties as assigned.
