Job Summary
As a Production Supervisor, you will oversee daily operations within the manufacturing facility, ensuring production targets and quality standards are met. You will lead a team of production workers, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
What will you do?
You will be responsible for the supervision and performance management of production employees. Our Production Supervisor makes non-routine decisions within established precedent considering objectives under limited supervision. In this role, you will lead a team of 25+ production employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and motivate a team of production workers to foster a high-performance culture
- Production Management: Develop and implement production schedules, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and on-time delivery of products. Facilitation of lean daily management processes (i.e., tier level meetings) including cross functional members
- Quality Assurance: Monitor production processes to maintain high-quality standards and identify areas for improvement
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve safety
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies, promoting a culture of safety within the production area
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to address production issues and implement corrective actions
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school or equivalent (GED) degree
- 3+ years of experience in a production/people supervisor role.
- Proven ability to manage 20+ production employees.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or supply chain
- 5+ years of experience in a production/people supervisory role
- Lean and/or Six Sigma certification; Kaizen leadership
- SAP experience
- Experience in transferring new products from R&D into standard production. Establish/validate manufacturing processes, verify tooling and documentation and transition for production launch
Working Conditions/Physical Demands, Travel, etc.
This job involves frequent standing and walking to overlook direct reports, typically throughout the manufacturing floor. Regular bending to check orders and lifting of 30lbs may be required. Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
