What You'll Do
The Supply Chain Operations Intern will support Procurement, Production Planning, and Materials Management through a cross‑functional project aimed at improving material flow, production schedule stability, and inventory accuracy. The intern will analyze supply chain data, support supplier and production performance evaluations, and assist in building a consolidated KPI dashboard that enhances visibility to key metrics. This role provides hands‑on experience across multiple supply chain functions and contributes directly to operational efficiency improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze demand, inventory, and supplier data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Support the development of a consolidated KPI dashboard for supply chain performance monitoring.
- Assist with evaluating inventory levels, safety stock settings, and replenishment parameters.
Procurement & Supplier Support
- Support supplier performance tracking and procurement data analysis.
- Help identify and document supplier delivery, quality, or communication challenges.
- Contribute to recommendations for supplier improvement or risk mitigation.
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Assist in reviewing production schedules for stability, feasibility, and capacity alignment.
- Support capacity assessments to identify resource bottlenecks or leveling opportunities.
- Help evaluate schedule changes and identify underlying constraints.
Materials Management & Flow Improvement
- Support root‑cause analysis for material shortages and propose corrective actions.
- Assist in mapping current‑state material flow and identifying inefficiencies.
- Contribute to an updated, optimized material flow map for production and logistics teams.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Procurement, Production, Logistics, Planning, and Quality teams to gather insights and validate findings.
- Participate in team meetings and process‑improvement discussions.
- Present progress updates and findings throughout the internship.
What You'll Bring
Required:
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel BI or similar data‑analysis tools.
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to interpret and organize data effectively.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of supply chain principles (inventory management, planning, procurement).
- Experience with data visualization tools or ERP systems.
- Interest in production systems, material flow, or supply chain analytics.
Internship Program Experience
- In addition to project-specific responsibilities, the intern will:
- Participate in a cross-functional intern cohort project.
- Present both their department-specific project and cohort project results to leadership.
- Attend development sessions and networking opportunities throughout the summer.
