Job Summary

As a Technical Training Manager, you will be responsible for developing, facilitating, and administering a product training program. The goal of the program is to upgrade technical sales skills of the Turck Sales team and maximize technical sales talent. This role will be very visible both internally and externally to the company.

What will you do?

Conduct Analysis

  • Leads comprehensive training needs assessments, identifying learning opportunities to address gaps and meet business needs.
  • Measures and evaluates the effectiveness of sales training efforts, including learning transfer and the impact of learning on business results.
  • Tracks, reports, and evaluates training programs for participation, effectiveness, and performance outcomes.

 Design & Deliver Learning Experiences

  • Communicates the training vision and objectives to foster continued growth and development of the teams supported by training. 
  • Manages end-to-end comprehensive training experiences from development to delivery encompassing product knowledge, technical content, sales methodology, sales competencies and processes, new hire onboarding and continuous development. Redesigning existing assets as needed to best serve learning experiences.
  • Designs and facilitates learning through a range of mediums including, but not limited to, in-person, webinars, virtual training, podcasts, videos, and at times, instructor-led trainings (ILT), including small groups of sales reps, distributors, employees, customers, and large-scale conferences.

Manage Coordination

  • Develops a calendar for the ongoing training curriculum and coordinates training sessions ensuring facility setup, and audiovisual needs as required.
  • Effectively manages pre/post-class activities that promote optimal learning.
  • Maintains consistent follow-up post-training, holding teams accountable for achieving training objectives and meeting goals.
  • Provides results & feedback to upper management and other internal customers.
  • Manages the sales training budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources

Collaborate and Improve

  • Builds partnerships and work collaboratively with Sales, Product Managers, and Human Resources to assess training needs of the sales force.
  • Analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) identifying trends and opportunities, communicating opportunities for improvement to senior leadership. 
  • Continuously assesses the effectiveness of training programs through metrics and feedback, adjusting content and delivery as needed.
  • Build a strong training culture within the organization that promotes ongoing learning and professional growth. 
  • Regularly reads industry literature and publications to stay informed regarding best practices, industry trends, and new advancements.

 
Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree or a 2-year degree combined with 3+ years of industrial automation experience.
  • Experience with Industrial Automation products required
  • Excellent communication skills – (written and verbal)
  • Superior presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Must have a strong attention to detail and be highly organized
  • Ability to work independently on multiple assignments with minimal supervision
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Power Point, Excel, and Teams
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.  
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in electrical or mechanical engineering degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of outside sales experience selling industrial automation products preferred
  • Programming PLCs and HMI preferred, additional programming skills a plus
  • Knowledge of Turck Argee, Codesys, Rockwell RSLogix, Siemens Step7 a plus
  • Experience with Industrial RFID, Machine vision, Robotics a plus
  • Experience with Industrial Connectivity products a plus

Working Conditions/Physical Demands, Travel, etc.

Position requires the ability to travel at least 50% of the time with the other amount of time being spent sitting at a workstation under usual office conditions. Incumbent will have regular contacts both inside and outside of the company requiring tact and discretion.
