Turck’s BEEP Technology Wins Golden Mousetrap Award

Turck, a manufacturer of sensors, connectivity and fieldbus technology for factory and process automation, today announced it has won a Golden Mousetrap Award 2019 for its engineering excellence in industrial network technology.

 

With cutting-edge capabilities that allow users to create high-density I/O networks without upgrading their PLC, Turck’s Backplane Ethernet Extension Protocol (BEEP) took third place in this year’s awards in the Automation & Motion Control: Industrial Network Technologies category. The award builds on Turck’s past successes with the program, which include a number of wins and finalist honors.

 

With BEEP, users can create a network of up to 33 I/O devices that appear as a single connection point to the PLC. This can greatly expand the amount of data communicated, without needing to invest in higher-cost PLCs.

 

As the first company to bring this backplane Ethernet technology to I/O devices, Turck’s innovative technology helps users capture and process more data, and extend the available network. Users can also expand an already full I/O network, and reduce downtime and production delays through drop-in device replacement.
